Our Ecofire HotRod mechanically pressed briquettes are very dense and highly calorific. They are made almost exclusively from oak with a little larch mixed in to help with the natural binding process - no chemicals or other additives are used in this process. These briquettes are the most ecologically sound means of heating your home and are completely carbon neutral. Every part of the briquette and packaging can be utilised and burned. An incredible alternative to traditional firewood logs, these briquettes will offer an exceptionally long burn.
When burning our briquettes please remember that in order to achieve maximum burn time and effective heat output that they should be left alone once burning, do not poke the fire or burn time will reduce. The briquettes will expand naturally once alight so it's best to start the fire with a moderate amount of briquettes to allow for expansion then marvel at how such a small amount of this superb briquette can produce so much heat.
You will find that the Ecofire HotRod briquettes burn with a pleasant flame to begin with, which then burns to a highly efficient and calorific glow phase once the flames have disappeared. If burnt in a stove with properly controlled airflow these briquettes can throw out exceptional amounts of heat for hours.
These briquettes do not spit or spark whilst they burn, making them safe and ideal to use on open fires, stoves, fire pits and chimineas.
Our samples are available in a single 10kg box or 2 x 10kg boxes.
Weights are approximate due to the natural variations of the material.
To encourage air flow around your logs, we recommend that you store them in a raised log store or on a pallet to keep your logs away from moist ground. We do not recommend stacking them up against a wall or placing them on grass, as air won't be able to flow and the logs can become damp.
For ease when building your fire, we recommend our boxes/nets of kindling and our Ecofire Natural Firelighters.
Sample bags are delivered by parcel courier to UK mainland only.
